Oh well, that comes from the cheery Google that is all over the web today. The homepage has Google wearing birthday caps. There's everything, birthday cake, presents, party streamers, balloons and cone hats. So, being a loyal lover, how can I stay behind in conveying my heartfelt wishes for the search engine that has stolen my heart ever since I have been in the online galaxy?

Google turns 13; the giant search engine turns teenager...aww, now that's something commendable, and what adventure it's been through all these years! More than a decade and world's darling Google is still going strong and even bigger and better. Kudos to the achievements and accolades to the revolutionary contribution to the digital world.
Co founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin were in the mid of their PHDs when Google struck their creative membrane and rest is history. The largest search engine has come off age and still minting $30 billion yearly. Hold your breath, there's more to come, besides confronting stiff competition, Google still manages to offer closest search results to a large audience for their queries. There's no tiring down with Google, they seem to be as fanatic about managing the world's web visitors as ever. The world has become a digital village and all of us are there. We just can't do without it right? Internet is almost synonymous to Google and vice versa.

There are no second thoughts about the fact that it has been the most influential search engine ever in the records of internet history. In the past wild 13 years, Google has evolved out to be a whopping publicly traded corporation from being a privately funded start up. The search engine has 65% of the US search volume, and 90% of the worldwide search volume.

* Google exposed itself during September 1998 most officially and by 2000, it had hit a mark of 100 million search queries a day. Also, its Adsense program had launched by then.
By 2001, Google was global; it went international with its first offshore office being set up in Tokyo.

* 2002 was the year when Froogle, the shopping search engine and Google news were developed and came into picture.

* Blogger was born in 2003.

* 2004 saw Google touching a search index of 8 billion items. This year was also significant, for its web based mail service Gmail came into picture.

* In 2006, Youtube, Google Maps and Google Docs were designed and launched.

* The latest on the cards being acquisition of Mobile phone maker, Motorola Mobility for about US$ 12.5 billion.
